The new Nvidia showcase trailer for Resident Evil Requiem makes the game look even more stunning, but it also gives us a glimpse of a new area in the game.
The 50-second trailer showcases Nvidia’s 4K Path Tracing and DLSS 4 capabilities in the game. While that’s great for the handful of people who can get it now, the biggest takeaway was a new city area that’s clearly more bustling than the ruins of Raccoon City.
Resident Evil Requiem Nvidia Trailer Offers New Area Hint
The trailer offers a brief glimpse of co-protagonist Grace Ashcroft walking along a lively city street, possibly in the fictional city of Wrenwood, where parts of Requiem take place.
There’s a banner for the local football team, the Critters, in the scene, but it seems there’s no specific city name attached. The most notable sports team from Raccoon City was the Sharks, and they definitely went belly up during the original disaster.
Resident Evil Requiem is the ninth mainline Resident Evil game, and its release coincides with the series’ 30th anniversary in 2026. The game is set decades after the Raccoon City incident and sees FBI agent Grace Ashcroft and series veteran Leon Kennedy cross paths when investigating mysterious deaths and disappearances.
The game returns to Raccoon City for the first time since the place was bombed at the end of Resident Evil 2 and 3. Leon and Grace will have their own sections, with Leon’s focused on action, while Grace has the survival side covered.

Resident Evil Requiem will be released on February 27, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
