Long-running MMORPG Runescape will see the return of its seasonal Winter Weekends, developer Jagex announced. Starting on November 30 and running until January 7, 2019, players will get a range of different benefits each weekend.
The current Winter Weekend is themed around elite dungeons and dungeoneering. Until December 3, players will get a doubled lore book drop rate, 25% more Slayer XP from dungeon NPCS and no experience penalty when the Grim Reaper comes knocking. It will be followed by a weekend that’s all about fishing, with fishing spots moving around less, deep sea fishing becoming available to all players and custom bait fish being more effective.
Combat and the Slayer skill get some love in Runescape’s third Winter Weekend. Between December 14 and December 17, instance fees will be slightly cheaper, Slayer experience will get a 25% boost and players will get an increased chance of getting those coveted rare drops.
The final Winter Weekend will focus on player owned farms and farming. They’re all extensively detailed in this post on the game’s website.
From December 1 until Christmas day, players will also receive daily festive gifts. The seasonal Violet is Blue quest will see Runescape players helping “a little girl raised by yetis realise her dream of visiting the annual yeti festival.”. Players will be able to complete it, and spread some of that Christmas spirit, as soon as December 17.
