Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts is the name of the next game in the series: not only have we already got a November release date, but we also know that Contracts promises a “return to form” for the franchise.
In Contracts, players will take up the role of a paid assassin tasked with doing a whole lot of killing in Siberia. Developers promise open-ended missions in a brutal environment that builds on top of the game’s predecessors in most ways, while getting rid of the fat.
“We were too ambitious in terms of the scope of Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, but we’ve learned from our missteps,” said Marek Tymiński, the Chief Executive Officer at CI Games. “Contracts will be more focused on emergent gameplay with an open-ended mission design that the team feels strong about, but it will not be set in an open world.”
Instead of delivering an open world of this or that type, Contracts will be a “more tactical, more condensed experience,” which makes it sound like Hitman in more ways than one. This isn’t a bad thing at all, though, because Hitman mastered this niche a fair while ago, and a competitor of sorts would certainly be nice.
Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts is slated to come out on 22nd of November, which means CI Games has been very hard at work over the past few months. Watch the announcement trailer below.
