Publisher Daedalic Entertainment and developer Gamexcite today announced that Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown has received a playable Steam Next Fest demo that aims to give us our very first taste of exploring the Delta Quadrant in the story-driven survival strategy game.
Judging by its brief trailer, which you can check out for yourself below, Star: Trek Voyager - Across the Unknown’s Steam Next Fest demo will let us tinker with several aspects of its gameplay, which extends beyond just exploration, into decision making, crew management, and beyond.
Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown Steam Next Fest Demo
It plops us right at the start of the saga as we encounter The Caretaker and decide how to proceed. The title totes “what if” scenarios as a central aspect of the whole experience, so perhaps we’ll get a sense of how it executes on them early on.
The U.S.S. Voyager is in rough shape after being forcefully moved to the Delta quadrant, which is why we’ll get to not just explore the iconic vessel but also gradually repair it.
Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown Steam Next Fest demo also introduces us to the crew on board Captain Kathryn Janeaway’s ship, giving us a chance to chat them up and make choices that affect our mission.
As we explore the Delta Quadrant, we’ll also “encounter strange anomalies and make tough calls,” which impact how the rest of our journey plays out.
There’s no mention of how long Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown’s Steam Next Fest demo will remain live but, since most of those active during the event go away when it ends, your safest bet is to hop in before October 20, 2025.
