Publisher and developer Madmind Studio today gave players a more extensive glimpse at Agony follow-up Succubus through a hellish, NSFW gameplay reveal video.
The 13-minute long gameplay reveal showcases how Succubus aims to place a heavier emphasis on melee combat while maintaining the sexual themes and grotesque imagery that made Agony stand out when it was first announced.
Succubus Gameplay Reveal
The Succubus gameplay reveal starts off with a short third-person sequence that sees the protagonist scaling a tower made of rugged rock. We’re not 100% how much involvement the player has in these platforming sections considering the “Hold Space” prompt that’s constantly present on the screen.
Not long after, Succubus switches to a first-person perspective, as hordes of misshapen humanoid horrors assault her. Brandishing two quick blades she does short work of the horde, while also showcasing a few different fiery abilities, alongside the dismemberment and executions that the game boasts.
The majority of the gameplay reveal focuses on these action-packed sequences, which suggest a rather significant departure from Agony. Where Succubus doesn’t stray far from Agony is its gory aesthetic and sexual imagery. The clip includes a short sequence of full-on (and fairly detailed) intercourse happening between two fights.
You can check out the Succubus gameplay reveal for yourself, although do bear in mind that it’s about as NSFW as it gets, over on the Agony YouTube channel.
Succubus does not currently have a release date, but it’s probably safe to assume it’ll launch in 2020 at its earliest.
