The Anacrusis kicks off 2022 with a bang, if co-op first-person shooters are your thing, launching in early access with three playable, feature complete episodes. Those planning to shoot up aliens at the edge of explored space might be wondering if crossplay will be available at release and just how far cross-platform support will extend.
Given how The Anacrusis focuses on the co-op experience, cross-platform support would be handy throughout its entire life cycle, enabling players to team up regardless of whether they’re on PC or console. Aside from potentially reducing matchmaking times, it’s one great feature if you and your friends aren’t all on the same platform.
The Anacrusis Crossplay Support
Thankfully, developer Stray Bombay has confirmed that The Anacrusis crossplay will, indeed, be available as soon as the game launches in early access on January 13.
Regardless of which PC storefront or Xbox console you choose when purchasing the game, you’ll be able to play with friends and players on other platforms without any barriers. This also applies to the game’s Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass version.
The title uses codes that can be passed around to allow players to join your game, according to the developer.
Having The Anacrusis cross-platform support available from the very start of its early access period is also one way to test and root out potential issues with the system while making it easier to get into games outside of peak hours.
Initially slated to launch in 2021, The Anacrusis enters early access on January 13, 2022, and is headed to PC (via both Steam and the Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.
