Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is finally here, and after garnering tons of praise from the press, interest in Warhorse Studios’ latest is through the roof. We could be looking at one of the biggest releases of the year, so you can bet veteran modders will be hitting it hard. With this article, we aim to highlight the very best Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 mods available to download now.
This massive, narrative-heavy action RPG is set in 15th-century Medieval Europe and continues the story of unlikely hero Henry, the first game’s protagonist, so we highly recommend playing the 2018 original first. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 appears to double down on deep role-playing systems and unforgiving mechanics, so this surely won’t be a peaceful walk around the countryside nor a power trip. It’s also why some players might want to tinker with certain elements of Warhorse’s ambitious sequel, and that’s where mods come in.
Scroll down below to learn about the most useful Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 mods we’ve found so far and keep an eye on this page, as we’ll be updating the list with more excellent tweaks and additions – big and small – as they come.
The Best Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Mods
- 1st Person Herb Picking II
- Instant Herb Picking II
- Totally Unnecessary Reticle for Bows and Crossbows
- Unlimited Saving II by EddieShoe
- Increased Carry Weight
- Quality Sleep
- More/Less XP (PBF)
- Remove Fog of War
- Random Encounter Enhanced
1st Person Herb Picking II by HerrTiSo
This first mod from HerrTiSo does exactly what it says on the cover: Ditching the weird “external camera view” of Henry when picking up herbs, thus helping maintain as much immersion as possible.
Right now, the picking animation “ends with a fade to black,” but the author promises an update will get rid of that too. The installation seems fairly simple too. Download it here.
Instant Herb Picking II by HerrTiSo
An alternative tweak to the “herb picking” action is Instant Herb Picking II by HerrTiSo again. If you don’t want an animation at all, this mod removes it completely, making the action instant.
Totally Unnecessary Reticle for Bows and Crossbows by HerrTiSo
With this one, HerrTiSo simply wanted to enable a reticle for bows and crossbows in case you needed extra visual aid. In the age of accessibility options everywhere, this would’ve been nice to have in the vanilla game, alas…
As we’ve said before, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s commitment to realism might be a tad too much for some players, so expect more mods like this one to arrive in the coming days and weeks.
Unlimited Saving II by EddieShoe
This game’s (and the original’s) saving system isn’t the greatest, and with how hard things can get very often, many players aren’t big fans of Saviour Schnapps. This mod fixes that by allowing players to save anytime and anywhere in the game “in a quick save fashion.”
Increased Carry Weight by JustAnOrdinaryGuy
JustAnOrdinaryGuy’s Increased Carry Weight is another quick install that should ease more casual players into the game. Drag and drop to enjoy an increased weight cap for your inventory.
Quality Sleep by J3DOON
Quality Sleep is another simple tweak to aims to improve the recovery provided by the sleeping action. Considering how often Henry needs to hit the sack during regular play, it’s a handy one for players that would like to tone down the realism of the role-playing experience.
More XP or Less XP (PBF) by pavelk
KCD2 doesn’t allow players to tinker with the XP gain rate either, so pavelk has worked on a mod that alters XP gains to make leveling faster or slower, depending on the pace of how you want to progress through the game’s crazy amounts of content.
Remove Fog of War by pavelk
Modder pavelk has also put out a small mod that removes the “clouds obscuring the map” RTS-style, allowing the player to see the world’s layout in full at all times.
Random Encounter Enhanced by pecheurman
Random Encounter Enhanced by pecheurman is a more complex mod than the ones listed above, and aims to make the many random encounters in the game more exciting more often.
After installing this one, the encounters that happen during travel will sometimes have a bigger number of NPCs fighting. According to the author, it’s “save game compatible” and can be removed without breaking anything in case you find it to be too much.
