After last year’s casual strategy spinoff Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles (which we enjoyed well enough), developer Tomas Sala promised more to come from that world. Now, a substantial free remaster of the original Falconeer game has arrived for Steam players.
Today, November 5, Sala shared the following via Steam news post:
“After weeks of intensive Beta testing and near daily improvements and new features, the Remaster is finally live. I am not going to wax poetic on the emotional journey, except that my anxiety is at peak levels. I hope and pray this remaster shows the dedication I have for my games and that playing them is more than a quick experience, it’s taking part in a creative journey that is now going on for over a decade. Couldn’t do it without all of you.”
Before we dive into all the juicy improvements and changes which arrive with the massive Revolution Remaster update, check out the launch trailer below:
Sala describes The Falconeer Revolution Remaster as “a complete reimagining” of the 2020 game, with new technology and denser environments helping bring his full vision to life. The Edge of the World DLC also comes included in the package. Here’s the quick list of key features, straight from the press release:
- Completely overhauled visuals: Rebuilt environments, redesigned warbirds, new lighting systems, and fully dynamic illumination that brings the skies of the Ursee to life.
- Refined flight controls: Experience a smoother, faster, and more responsive aerial combat.
- Rebalanced missions: Smarter enemies, faster pacing, and more epic encounters.
- The Edge of the World DLC: Fully integrated into the base game, now remastered to the same high standard.
- Expanded lore and world: New settlements, visual storytelling, and subtle narrative updates deepen the Ursee’s mystery.
- Improved controls: A reworked single control scheme providing a more intuitive experience for players on mouse and keyboard.
- And More: New cosmetic armour sets and expanded voice acting.
While the Revolution Remaster is available at no extra cost to all existing Steam owners, there’s no word on when (or if) the console versions of the game will receive this rework.
