The Outer Worlds is one of the best games of the year, and one of the coolest things about it is that it doesn't hold your hand. It's entirely possible to get in situations where entire planets are unfriendly to you and will shoot on sight. If you've got to that point with the Board, you'll need to reset your The Outer Worlds Board reputation.
How to reset The Outer Worlds Board Reputation
There are various points in The Outer Worlds where it's possible to tank your reputation with certain factions through quest decisions, and if you go too far they'll shoot you on sight - making it difficult to raise your reputation again with them. This is particularly troublesome when it comes to the Halcyon Board, since they control Byzantium - and you'll be left unable to do many quests there if you have bad reputation with them. It is possible to cheat and raise your reputation with the Board, but fortunately there's a way to reset your Board reputation in-game - no cheats required! MINOR SPOILER FOLLOWS! After you complete the quest The City and the Stars, go back to your ship and speak with Ada. The Board will get in touch with you and task you with planting a tracking device on Phineas Wells' computer. Accept this mission. You can either go ahead and plant the device, or warn Phineas beforehand and he'll give you a corrupted tracking device to plant instead. No matter which option you choose, the Board will contact you once you return to the Unreliable and ask to meet - and your negative Board reputation will be immediately reset to zero! You can now visit locations like the Byzantium as normal and complete the quests there. Try not to tank your rep again!
