What Is the Max Party Size for Rogue Trader? Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader max party size determines the numbers of companions and players able to join the Lord Captain on their journey across the vastity of the Koronus Expanse. As foul daemons, ruthless xenos, and many other challenges loom ahead, having followers that complement the protagonist’s abilities is always wise.
Thankfully, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader’s max party size proves to be reasonably generous both when tackling the game in single-player as well as co-op.
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader Max Party Size
At launch, Rogue Trader’s max party size allows six characters to tackle the dangers of the Koronus Expanse together.
The Lord Captain will always occupy one slot, since the title’s narrative revolves around them. The remaining five slots can then be filled using the companions designed by developer Owlcat Games, each of which has its backstory, goals, and convictions.

In addition, you can also replace them with custom-created mercenaries, which might become an option worth considering, especially when playing in co-op.
Regardless of the approach you favor, it’s worth keeping in mind that you won’t be able to reach Rogue Trader’s max party size from the very first hours of the campaign.
It takes a while for five other characters to join you, but thankfully, it also won’t be too long before you’ll have to choose who joins you on missions carefully.
It’s unclear if future DLC will increase Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader’s max party size, but it’s possible that mods might allow us to go beyond the current limit at some point in the future.
Nevertheless, six characters are more than enough to manage when playing solo, even with combat being turn-based.
The number also hits the sweet spot in terms of co-op play, especially since one player can control several characters.
