The PlayStation Plus Essential monthly games list for August comes with Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition and two other heavy hitters.
These games will be available to download as long as you’re subscribed to any one of the three PlayStation Plus tiers (Essential, Extra, Premium) and claim them before the end of the monthly window they appear in. The titles included in the PlayStation Plus games list for August 2026 will remain playable so long as your subscription to the service is active.
The three games can be claimed Tuesday, August 4, until Monday, August 31.
PlayStation Plus Essential Games Available in August 2026
Starting August 4, PS Plus Essential subscribers can register to their accounts and download:
- Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition (PS4 & PS5)
- Big Walk (PS5)
- Signalis (PS4)
Here’s a quick rundown on what to expect from each of them.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition
“Humanity is fighting a losing battle against the virus. Experience a post-apocalyptic open world overrun by hordes of zombies, where your parkour and combat skills are key to survival. Traverse the City freely during the day, but watch the monsters take over during the night.”
Despite some ups and downs, Dying Light 2 Stay Human was a solid success for Techland, and it’s now clawing its way into the PlayStation Plus Essential offerings in its Reloaded Edition form. This new standard package includes the Bloody Ties DLC, firearms, 50 additional Legend Levels, more quests, a graphics overhaul, and more enemy variants, among other things. If you hadn’t played the 2022 zombie-smashing sequel yet, you’re about to get the possible experience.
Big Walk
“Hang out and get lost with close friends in a big world. A cooperative online walker-talker from the creators of Untitled Goose Game.”
Big Walk isn’t a PS5 exclusive, but it’s launching straight into PS Plus Essential thanks to a special partnership with Sony, so subscribers can play it day one with friends. It’s an eye-catching and off-beat walking sim full of surprising challenges and puzzles. It’s important to stay in contact and communicate the next steps in your journey, but Panic has teased the journey itself is a bigger priority than the destination and objectives.
Signalis
“A classic survival horror experience set in a dystopian future where humanity has uncovered a dark secret. Unravel a cosmic mystery, escape terrifying creatures, and scavenge an off-world government facility as Elster, a technician Replika searching for her lost dreams.”
Signalis was one of 2022’s best and most overlooked games, so we’re celebrating that PS4 (and PS5) players will be able to experience it as part of the monthly lineup. I’m of the opinion you should walk blind into it if possible. Do you like old-fashioned survival horror games? If your answer is positive, it’s likely you’ll love this one. Expect a loopy story, stylish retro-inspired visuals, and a truly oppressive atmosphere.
