Publisher and developer Shiro Games today unveiled Wartales’ 2026 roadmap, giving us our first proper look at the content that present and future mercenary leaders can expect from the popular open-world RPG.
Wartales’ 2026 roadmap includes both free updates and premium DLC that aim to expand the options available to us and diversify the threats we face while exploring its world.
Wartales 2026 Roadmap
As early as April, a new Contract DLC is slated to drop, taking us “to the capital of Edoran, where order must be restored amid the chaos of an ongoing civil crisis.”
A free update is then slated to drop in Q3 2026, introducing new battle maps, armour colour variations, quality of life changes, and other bits and bobs based on community feedback.
Finally, Wartales’ annual Expansion DLC is set to go live towards the end of the year, in Q4 2026, promising horseback units, a new region, champion, and various other goodies.

What’s certain is that three years after its full launch, following a successful stint in early access, the open-world RPG still hasn’t run out of steam.
