Wolfenstein 3 release date rumors have begun swirling, which is good news for those of us who were hoping developer MachineGames returns to the BJ Blazkowicz-led saga after its recent and fairly successful detour of bringing Indiana Jones to our screens.
The last entry in the series, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, dates from 2019 and proved to be a fairly underwhelming co-op spin-off that focused on BJ’s twin daughters, Jess and Soph Blazkowicz. Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus launched in late 2017, which means that, by the time Wolfenstein 3’s release date materializes, the series’ iconic protagonist will likely have been missing in action for more than a decade.
Wolfenstein 3 Release Date Rumors
Rumors that Wolfenstein 3 is in development popped up in a Windows Central article by Jez Corden, who claims that a new entry in the series is in development. Its release date could coincide with the upcoming Wolfenstein Amazon TV show, which was confirmed to be in development in mid-2025.
Kotaku then backed up Corden’s claims, confirming through its own sources that Wolfenstein 3 is being worked on by MachineGames.
Since this is all we know at the moment about the upcoming title, it’s hard to pinpoint a Wolfenstein 3 release date, although it’s probably safe to assume it won’t happen before 2027.
Similarly, the scope of the project is unclear, as is its positioning within the rebooted franchise’s timeline. Although Youngblood was seen as a misstep by fans of the series, the games preceding it received quite a bit of praise for both their narrative and high-octane action.
Whether MachineGames aims to stick to its formula or has something more ambitious planned, it’s probably safe to assume that we’ll get the chance to blast plenty of Nazis to bits when BJ Blazkowicz returns.
That covers what we know about a potential Wolfenstein 3 release date. More details will hopefully be revealed soon.
