Paradox Interactive has expanded its subscription plan to the grand strategy game Crusader Kings 3.
Having already launched successful subscription plans for the likes of Hearts of Iron IV and Europa Universalis, Paradox adds the medieval strategy title to the list, offering players every single piece of DLC for the game.
That means for a monthly fee, you can have access to every expansion, cosmetic, event pack, and everything beyond for Crusader Kings 3. No exclusions, everything included.
Crusader Kings 3 Subscription Model Offers a Lot for Less
The vanilla Crusader Kings 3 isn’t exactly lacking. In a meticulously researched medieval setting, players can take command of their own house and expand their legacy through the years, claiming land, titles, and vassals to build their legacy. Even after your character dies, their heirs can take up the mantle and keep things going.
So you can imagine the DLC for Crusader Kings 3 only grows that hefty saga further. Which begs the question: have you got enough resources and time to justify piling more money into creating a time sink that starts to resemble an infinity loop?
Subscriptions for Crusader Kings 3 start at $9.99USD/£8.49/€9.99 per month, with discounts for longer-term subscriptions. You can select a subscription right off the Steam page.
By comparison, the base game is currently £41.99 on Steam, and with every piece of DLC (and a 25% discount), it costs £188.79 to attain everything Crusader Kings 3 has to offer.
So for some, a subscription model offers an all-you-can-eat buffet of sorts. A chance to try on expansions and the like and see if they’re ready for them.
It’s a model that clearly works for Paradox, so we can expect to see more games in its roster take up the subscription route to their DLC.
