Capcom has revealed that the release date for the first episode of upcoming survival horror Resident Evil: Revelations 2 has been pushed back a week. It will now arrive on Steam on February 25. Subsequent episodes won't be affected by the delay. In addition to that news, Capcom has also kindly furnished us with videos starring some of the hideous abominations we'll have to fend off. One of them looks a bit like an undead tapir.
Capcom has revealed the minimum and recommended system requirements for the PC version of Resident Evil HD on Steam. You aren't going to need a high-end machine for this, unlike the system requirements that were revealed for The Witcher 3 earlier in the week, but then this is an HD remaster after all. The recommended requirements list a quad-core CPU with at least a NVIDIA GTX 560 or an AMD Radeon HD 6950 along with up to 4GB of RAM.
Capcom has announced a release date for its upcoming HD remaster of the remake of the original Resident Evil. That's not quite as confusing as it initially sounds. You'll be able to grab it from digital distributors on PC and consoles from January 20 in Europe, and it'll set you back $19.99/€19.99/£15.99.
A new trailer confirms Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will indeed star everyone's favourite burly purveyor of handcannons, Barry Burton. An ESRB listing for the game hinted that Barry would be making an appearance as a playable character, and the new gameplay footage appears to suggest that that's the case.
Rumours are flying regarding the recent ESRB rating for Resident Evil Revelations 2, which seems to suggest the presence of a previously unannounced playable character. "This is an action-adventure game in which players assume the roles of an imprisoned woman and a father searching for his daughter on an island," the listing reads.

Seriously though, the atmosphere here seems much closer to Resident Evil's gloomy survival horror roots than the series' recent move towards over-the-top action.
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 producer Michiteru Okabe is a big fan of VR technology, and think that it makes "perfect sense" for the Resident Evil series and horror games in general. "I'm really excited about VR," said Okabe, speaking to Game Informer, "I think it makes sense. Having gone from 2D to 3D, now it's time to surround yourself in these worlds instead of just having a screen in front of you.
Gaya Entertainment, a company based in Germany that creates collectible merchandise, has designed six 1/6 statues for Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles which look absolutely brilliant. They are officially licensed by Capcom and each model will only have 1500 copies made, making them very rare in the future.
Capcom are letting the hordes loose onto the next-gen consoles. There's no official release date but Chris Kramer, the senior director of communications and community, has said Capcom have an exciting year ahead that will include Resident Evil 5. "Just being able to see Resident Evil 5 running, I'm like 'Oh my god!'", Kramer said.
The latest issue of Famitsu has revealed that Capcom could be planning on developing an updated version of Resident Evil Zero for the Wii. Its been called Biohazard 0 in Japan and will be released during the Summer, but no information was given for a release in Europe.
You might have heard about the Capcom 25th Anniversary DVD that comes packaged with the latest issue of the Famitsu magazine. Capcom have in fact already developed the game on PC where they can more easily get on with their day job, it's then migrated over to Xbox360 and PS3. While there's no official announcement to a PC release they have made a number of previous console exclusives available to us desktop gaming zealots.
Speaking at Microsoft’s E3 keynote speech, producer Jun Takauchi revealed that, for the first time in the series, Resident Evil 5 will feature an online co-op mode. It will allow players to play through the campaign together and work together to defeat obstacles.
Capcom has revealed that it will not be cutting down on the amount of gore that will be present in Resident Evil 5 as an attempt to get a lower age certification. "We’re never going to create a gore-free Resident Evil title to try and get a lower rating as it's a game about the horror experience and gore is part of that," commented Rhys Cash, Capcom UK's research and planning manager.
Capcom is raising the bar in how many people it takes to produce an AAA game by announcing that it have more than 400 people involved in the production of Resident Evil 5. Gamekyo is reporting on the extremes that Capcom has gone to in the production of this game, by quoting a Capcom report as saying that the "staff visited Africa, a new backdrop in the series, to experience the real Africa where the contrast between light and the darkness is stunning" and that it has "more than 400 people including company employees and outside contractors working on (Resident Evil 5)".
More details on the new Resident Evil 5 are trickling out. The Japanese language magazine, Famitsu, is reporting that the playable debut at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show will include two new characters as well as several new creatures. The magazine article described by IGN says that the new characters are Albert Wesker, a former Resident Evil character and his ally Excella Gionne.
