Black Ops, FIFA see off Cataclysm News

The UK all formats chart has been struck with Cataclysm, but the World of Warcraft add-on didn't manage to make a victim of Call of Duty: Black Ops. Neither did FIFA 11 suffer at its reckoning from Blizzard. Cataclysm entered in third place, which is tremendous for a PC exclusive expansion pack.

Co-founder Greg Zeschuk of BioWare has said at the DICE summit in Las Vegas that MMO developers must take critical lessons from World of Warcraft. That's because if we have standards in the genre, "WoW established them." It's a "touchstone" for BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic.

According to leaked notes for the upcoming new patch for World of Warcraft, Blizzard is revamping two 'old WoW' dungeons to support heroic raids. Level 85 heroic five-man raids to be more precise. Epic items of level 353 will be lootable, and you need item levels of 346 to get in. Rare mounts return too.

World of Warcraft was hit a with a plague back in 2005, the 'Hakkar Blood Plague', which was meant to be confined to the Zul'Gurub high-level dungeon. It was infectious to players and it broke out. Dr. Nina Fefferman is an epidemiologist and she claimed it provided quite a 'fascinating insight' into epidemics.
