It was pretty unexpected, too, though, so yay?

An unknown ex-developer from the now closed Bioshock creators Irrational Games has taken to writing an article on hackernoon to express claim that publisher 2K Games are responsible not only for Irrational Games closure but also for the tanked projects of Evolve, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified and Mafia 3.
Coming off of the release of Bioshock: The Collection, quite a few PC players had reported performance issues affecting the remastered versions of Bioshock and Bioshock 2, while others asked for further options to fine-tune the experience to their liking. 2K has been paying attention. Both issues will be the central focus of an upcoming patch to Bioshock: The Collection.
From the release of the original Bioshock in 2007 up to the mass layoff and restructuring of Irrational Games in 2014, director and Irrational co-founder Ken Levine had been an active voice and face in the video game industry. Then, following shortly after the release of Bioshock Infinite his studio downsized and Levine has slipped quietly into the background since. With the recent release of the Bioshock Collection Levine broke silence in an interview and spoke up about the physical and mental strain that keeps him from ever wanting to go back to the series.
Most PC users at this point will probably own at least one BioShock title, I mean, they are only some of the best games of the last decade. 2K have announced that if you own any of the BioShock games prior to BioShock: The Collection releasing, your games will be upgraded automatically. This includes the commentary tracks, any graphical upgrades and all the DLC released for those games. You may have missed the news last Friday – 2K are releasing BioShock: The Collection, which includes upgraded versions of BioShock 1 and 2 as well as the current version of BioShock Infinite. This collection will cost $59.99 (which usually converts to about £40 in the UK).
Two of the greatest shooters of the last decade and Bioshock 2 make their way into one collection on September 13th – BioShock: The Collection. BioShock 1, BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite are going to be remastered (well, not BioShock Infinite, at least not on PC) and released on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. So, what do you get in this collection? Well, you get to play all three games as well as all of the DLC that was released for those games. Here’s everything you get to experience with each of these games:
A month ago, the Brazilian Ratings Board listed a new compilation called BioShock: The Collection for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Now, the ESRB has joined in with its own, more detailed listing.
According to a listing on the Brazilian classifications board, 2K Games are working on BioShock: The Collection for PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. BioShock: The Collection doesn't have a release date yet, it hasn't been officially confirmed, and we still don't know what it will include. Of course it's likely to contain the original BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock Infinite, but will these be standard releases or will it be an enhanced version for current-gen consoles and PC?
Bioshock came out a long time ago, 2007 to be precise. 8 years have passed and technology has advanced dramatically. So despite being a beautiful game for the most part, its limitations can easily be seen with even the untrained eye. One of those limitations was the 30 frame per second limiter put on the game's graphics engine. Well, now there's a mod for that.
The International Games Developers Association (IGDA) Games Writers Guild held their annual writing event at the Southbank University last Wednesday, where some of the video games industry's most recognised names shared their thoughts on breaking into the industry. Covering a range of topics, from the merits of cutscenes to the uses of Excel in scripting, a panel consisting of Rhianna Pratchett (Tomb Raider), James Swallow (Deus Ex), Andrew Walsh (Fable:Legends), Ed Stern (Brink) and Tom Jubert (Subnautica) discussed in detail exactly what makes for a good in-game story.
Anyone who has followed the games, antics, and ethics of Ken Levine and his studio, Irrational Games, should know full well that the man and the studio value a deep creativity and a tight knit story. However, new job openings at Irrational point to a possibility of embracing a new kind of project that don't generally follow the strict confines of Bioshock and System Shock.
There aren't currently any Bioshock games on the horizon, but Take-Two's CEO Strauss Zelnick says that the franchise is still "really important" to its subsidiary publisher 2K Games. Zelnick was speaking during the Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference in New York this week, where he also revealed the franchise has sold more than 25 million copies in total. 2013's Bioshock Infinite accounted for 11 million of those copies.
Bioshock creator Ken Levine has been talking about his next project, and though he's not quite ready to spill the beans on what it's all about just yet, he has revealed some interesting details. Speaking to Game Informer, Levine said the game would contain a new narrative system, with characters reacting to the player differently based on their wants and needs.
What is BioShock creator Ken Levine doing with this new project of his? He recently took to Twitter to answer questions and revealed a little more about his plans, like how storytelling will be different. Levine wants "narrative Legos" that lets his team insert new story content without it following a set linear path. He wants to be able to swap and change around, so they can "recombine in meaningful ways."
*UPDATE* 2K has confirmed to IGN that "the BioShock Infinite Complete Edition is coming to Xbox 360, PS3, and PC later this year", and says that more information on the product is coming soon. --- Bioshock Infinite is getting the Complete Edition treatment according to listings on Gamestop and Amazon Canada. The complete version of Irrational's game is currently listed for Xbox 360 and PS3, and is set for a November 4 release.
It seems that the Xbox360 and PC can't contain the thirst of the project, but there hasn't been any confirmation it'll see Sony's console. Of course there's plenty of writing on the wall that team Marin will be pursuing it, it's a post for a senior designer and "Playstation3 experience is required."
