Producer Naoki Yoshi has updated the community with news that the November-end due 1.20 patch for Final Fantasy XIV has been pushed back by almost two weeks. However "none of this will affect" patch 1.21 and the eagerly awaited Version 2.0. The "extended free trial period" won't draw to a close until "1.20 has been out for a while."
Final Fantasy producer Yoshinori Kitase states that if Square-Enix decides to remake Final Fantasy VII, he may go George Lucas on the game and make changes to the gameplay mechanics while adding and removing content.
Soulcalibur V isn't the only game Ezio Auditore will be appearing in, as Ubisoft and Square Enix announced today that the lovable assassin will also be featured in Final Fantasy XIII-2. Although he won't be playable, it'll just be his costume from Assassin's Creed Revelations. Star Ocean developer tri-Ace contributed to Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIII-2 with game design, programming, artwork and other duties, revealed tri-Ace producer Yichiro Kitao. The RPG studio created Infinite Undiscovery in 2008, Star Ocean: The Last Hope in 2009 and Resonance of Fate last year. They've got a strong relationship with Square Enix.
A lawsuit brought against Square-Enix over alleged "hidden fees" for the MMO Final Fantasy XI has been dismissed by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. The ruling was made last week on the 20th December.

Director and producer Tetsuya Nomura has said their next showing of Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be using a real-time demo, and not just trailer clips. No event this month. Defeating her will allow players to have her in their party, just as defeating Omega and other classic Final Fantasy bosses will as well.
Game director Motomu Toriyama and producer Yoshinori Kitase of Final Fantasy XIII-2 have revealed the title is consider the "Noel and Serah Volume" to the team, teasing others to come. There's to be a Lightning Volume, a Snow Volume, a Sazh Volume and likely more. It's unclear though if they could arrive as DLC, or if Square Enix will choose other outlets.

No Square Enix will not be remaking the whole of Final Fantasy X for its PlayStation 3 and Vita launch, as producer Shinji Hashimoto describes it as a 'remaster' project, meaning visuals. Final Fantasy X will be "much better" to the eye than the original. It will be revamped much like ICO and Shadow of the Colossus was in HD; gameplay won't be overhauled.
Square-Enix's struggling, bug-ridden MMO Final Fantasy XIV will be contracting, as eight of its 18 servers will be merging on the 27th March.
It seems Square-Enix's plans to merge 8 of the eighteen Final Fantasy XIV servers has hit a snag, as players have expressed outrage over the merger. As a result the publisher has put the merger, which was to have taken place on the 27th March, on hold for re-evaluation.
Sazh will be the star of the next downloadable content for Final Fantasy XIII-2. The DLC, titled "Sazh: Heads or Tails", will be released on the 28th February on Xbox Live Marketplace and the 29th February on PlayStation Network. The DLC will cost 400 Microsoft Points on Marketplace and $5.00/£2.99/€3.59 on PSN.
The next batch of downloadable content for Final Fantasy XIII-2 may be Mass Effect related, according to Siliconera, which is reporting that a "source" told them of the upcoming DLC.
Square-Enix has announced that Sazh and his huge afro are now available for download as the "Sazh: Heads or Tales" downloadable content for Final Fantasy XIII-2 on Xbox Live Marketplace. The DLC will be available tomorrow on PlayStation Network.
