A lot can change over the course of a night. When the news broke yesterday evening (for us brits), we thought we'd start the morning announcing the end of the dispute between Bethesda and Interplay. Not so. According to Kotaku, despite the appeal against Interplay being dropped, the overall proceedings are very much alive.

That MMO based on Fallout still exists - yes it does - and Interplay want to prove it by parading some artwork and sending out newsletters. They give a fragment of the back-story to the post-apocalypse to any who sign-up on the official Fallout Online website. Mad guy talks "Monkey Butt".
There will be no wandering the wastes after you complete that final mission in Fallout: New Vegas, because Obsidian want an "impactful" climax. If they'd have kept it open-ended then consequences could "not be very major", so they decided to use slides. New Vegas warns us of last level.

During our Fallout: New Vegas interview with Obsidian Entertainment's Josh Sawyer, we got cheeky and popped the 'Alpha Protocol' question. AP wasn't received that well, so did it affect the New Vegas team? It was "kind of sobering" he said, and feels they maybe 'internalised' too much.
