Dawn of War III Open Beta begins on 21st until 24th April, sign-ups now available News

The Dawn of War 3 Open Beta will start on 21st April at 10AM PST and will run until 10AM PST on April 24th, SEGA and Relic Entertainment announced today. If you're interested in taking part in the Dawn of War 3 Open Beta you can register here. The Dawn of War 3 Open Beta will give you a good chance to test out three of the game's factions - Space Marines, Eldar, and Orks – and come up with different playstyles and strategies ready for when the game launches on 27th April.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 3 was a title a lot of fans didn’t expect to ever see once THQ declared bankruptcy in 2012. Sega purchased Relic Entertainment in early 2013 for $26.6 million as part of THQ’s auction of their properties. So far, the only game released by Relic under Sega has been Company of Heroes 2. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 3 is being developed by Relic Entertainment, the developers famous for their work on the previous entries in the Dawn of War series.

After almost 7 years of waiting, SEGA and Relic Entertainment have finally revealed that Dawn of War III will return to base-building when it releases exclusively for the PC in 2017. Players will be able to lead elite hero units and massive armies to victory, or oblivion. This is Relic bringing the series into the "modern era", building on 12 years of "explosive gameplay" by combining the base-building featured in the first game with the customization and heroes of Dawn of War II.

Avalon Lords: Dawn Rises is a game that developer and publisher Animus Interactive describes as a “Total War Killer”. It's a medieval real time strategy that features both a single-player campaign and a multiplayer mode with up to 3v3 players. Avalon Lords: Dawn Rises is set in the lands of Spero, where six city states rule over the land. Tensions are running high between the lords of these six states, with several battling it out to take control of the region and make themselves king. You start the game as a minor Lord of the City of Avon, one of Spero's six city states. Lord Avon has sent you out to form a new city in a strategically desirable part of the realm, but soon you'll meet a rising leader who seeks to unite the warring Lords under one order – the Order of Dawn.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Retribution gets ridiculously bloody in time for Halloween News

A new downloadable content pack is now available for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Retribution, called the Ridiculously Bloody Blood Pack, and as the name states, it causes enemies to explode in fountains of blood when they die. In fact, it's so bloody the content warns that it "can affect battle visibility when in combat." A trailer shows just how ridiculously bloody the Ridiculously Bloody Blood Pack can be.

Sega registers Dawn of War 3 domain News

Sega has registered a domain for Dawn of War 3, suggesting that developer Relic Entertainment may be working on another installment in the Warhammer 40K RTS series. It's not definitive evidence, of course; companies often register domain names as a precaution, and this may just be Sega covering its bases, but it's been a couple of years since Relic released Company of Heroes 2, so the timing would make a certain kind of sense.
