Sudden Strike 5 players can take part in one of the most crucial campaigns in WWII in the upcoming France: Road to Liberation DLC.
Publisher Kalypso Media and developer Kite Games will transport players to August 1944 during the backdrop of Operation Dragoon as opposing forces battle for control of a nation on the brink of liberation.
You’ll be able to take on the campaign on July 30, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It will be priced at $14.99 / € 14.99 / £12.99.
Sudden Strike 5 - France: Road to Liberation Expands the Game’s Army of Content
Sudden Strike 5 - France: Road to Liberation introduces six new missions, with three playable as the Allied forces and three playable as the Axis powers. Storm the shores of Camel Beach with the Allied forces and progress through the liberation of Toulon before capturing Hill 300 to sever German retreat routes.
Axis missions will challenge the tactical expertise of battle-hardened generals as German armies must evacuate the region while defending critical positions against mounting Allied pressure.
The DLC also features a new Commander, Jean de Lattre de Tassigny, whose skillset focuses on velocity and mobility, and two new doctrine cards, “Maquis Mobilisation” and “Crew Vehicle Training”, with a set of new extensions each.
And that’s not all, because the France: Road to Liberation DLC introduces more than six brand-new units and unit types, including the Allied destroyer USS Edison and German remote detonation vehicle 5dKfz. 302 Goliath.
The development team will continue to deliver auxiliary game enhancements as detailed in the recent roadmap. Notably, before this DLC lands, a Co-Op Mode will officially be arriving in the game as a free update for all in early July.
