With a release date and trailer revealed at the Future Games Show, Frogwares has also dropped a demo for its survival horror sequel, The Sinking City 2, on Steam.
The demo surprise-released during the show, as it was revealed that the game would be launched on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on August 18, 2026.
The Sinking City 2 demo covers the opening hour of the full game and offers an early look at Frogwares’ take on survival horror. It also provides the first opportunity to properly meet the new protagonist, occult adventurer Calvin Rafferty, and begin uncovering the reasons behind his tragic and arduous journey into the flooded and Eldritch monster-infested city of Arkham.
The Sinking City 2 Demo Gives a Glimpse of Frogwares’ Eldritch Horrors
Set in the Roaring ’20s, The Sinking City 2 is a survival horror steeped in Lovecraftian dread. Defy an eldritch deity and explore the drowned alleys of Arkham, stalked by the dead, as you weigh one life against an entire city.
The game leans far more heavily on horror than its predecessor, but Frogwares hasn’t forgotten its detective investigation roots. So expect brains and brawn to figure into your chances of survival.
It’s nice to get a chance to sample the atmosphere of The Sinking City 2 ahead of the game’s full release later this Summer. At the time of writing, the weather here is almost perfect for recreating the waterlogged streets of Arkham, so I’ll be putting my wellies on to play the demo.
