Frogwares returns to cosmic horror with the follow-up to its 2019 Lovecraft-infused detective adventure. The original game ended up embroiled in a battle with the game's then-publisher for ownership, a fight Frogwares eventually won.
The Ukrainian developer then had to deal with the war brought on by Russia when making newer games. Again, the developer has persevered throughout the war and, probably later than it would have wanted, The Sinking City 2 is finally on the way.
GameWatcher takes a look at all the information on this upcoming survival horror sequel ahead of its release.
The Sinking City 2 Release Date
At the Future Games Show, Frogwares dropped a trailer and a demo alongside The Sinking City 2 release date itself! The Sinking City 2 will launch on August 18, 2026 on all its formats.
Previously, Frogwares had planned to surprise-release the game around December 2025/January 2026, but the ongoing war in the developer's country of Ukraine and issues in changing the game saw the developer announce a delay into 2026.

The Sinking City 2 Gameplay
The Sinking City 2 will go for a classic survival horror setup. That means inventory management, puzzles, backtracking, and limited resources as you fend off unspeakable horrors.
Frogwares is doubling down on the horror aspect of the game, so expect a far more terrifying outing this time around.

Set in the Roaring ’20s, The Sinking City 2 is a survival horror steeped in Lovecraftian dread. Defy an eldritch deity and explore the drowned alleys of Arkham, stalked by the dead, as you weigh one life against an entire city.
