Crypt of the Necrodancer Summary
'Roguelike' is a word being used quite a bit these days, and now Crypt of the NecroDancer has come along to plant its flag in the genre. It's got generated dungeons, permadeath, stubbornly retro pixels, and dance moves.
No roguelike hero has suffered until they've been enslaved to the rhythm of the beat quite like in NecroDancer, where every thump could be your last. It's a dance off, Dungeons and Dragons style.
Brace Yourself Games' dungeon dance-fest Crypt of the NecroDancer has moved out of Early Access, and to celebrate the team has released a chronicling their development process.
The documentary covers the team's approach to art design, music composition, and Early Access development. There's also a glimpse at the endless trips to indie game conventions and preview events involved in promoting a new game.
Crypt of the Necrodancer has just received what developer Brace Yourself Games calls its “biggest update ever”, adding new boss battles and characters.
In fact, new boss Coral Riff (get it?) is actually pretty cool, an entire nautical ensemble complete with trumpets and drum kits that you'll have to defeat.
