F1 2010 Summary
While Microsoft's Games for Windows Live client is in its death rows there are many futures left uncertain, like all those GFWL infested games still out there. What becomes of them once the beast is slain?
A list has been compiled by Joystiq on what's happening with various titles by publishers and studios. The future is bright for some, not so blinding for others.
Codemasters' F1 2010 has "surpassed expectations" by selling over 2.3 million copies around the world with 540k of those sold in the UK alone. No franchise "freefall".
They had "some cool things" up their sleeve with F1 2010 boast Codemasters, and they learnt a "great deal" over the years working on the Formula 1 racing franchise.
Formula 1 racing is Codemasters hopeful 'ace in the hole' that will become as established for them and as crucial to annual schedules "as FIFA is to EA."
They "won this licence" for F1 because racers are "in the DNA" of their studios. Unsure anyone "out there" could top their F1 videogame performance.
Publisher Codemasters says launching a game like F1 2010 but 'incomplete', "maybe it's got six tracks," with DLC to finish it later isn't "inconceivable".
Such methods would "deal with a lot" of the pre-owned and piracy issues. The obstacle is how to "figure out" this kind of videogame - retail may revolt.
Formula 1 racers your virtual strife is over if you've been burning rubber on PS3 F1 2010 as the patch from Codemasters is up - fixing major game bugs.
The Xbox 360 version seems to be stuck in the pit-stop for a while longer. This should address many of the game issues plaguing the community.
