Fallout 2 Latest News adds roster of classic Bethesda games to its library

Should you fancy a nostalgic trip through the wastelands before digging into Fallout 4 this November, you might be interested to hear that a Fallout Anthology is planned for release this Fall.

Containing every game in the post-apocalytpic franchise's storied history (that's Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition and Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition), the anthology comes neatly housed inside a Fatman Mini-Nuke, with an extra slot for Fallout 4 also included.

Original Fallout games back on Steam after lengthy legal wrangling

Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood are now back on the Steam library and waiting to be downloaded after a protracted legal skirmish between original franchise owner Interplay and current owner Bethesda.

Said skirmish resulted in a $2 million settlement which transfers all rights to the Fallout IP over to Bethesda for good.

Fallout catalogue removed from GOG after franchise control shifts to Bethesda

The classic back catalogue of Fallout titles previously available on digital retailer GOG's website has been removed due to a rights issue originating from Bethesda's acquisition of the license.

This year's Winter Promo sale has begun on with the first 48 hours offering the original Fallout series for free. It's an offer that shouldn't be missed as licensing changes hands soon.

That means Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics won't be sold on any more, although it'll remain attached to people's accounts. Over 600 games will get 50% off until December 29th.
