has revealed that major film producer Michael De Luca has come to an agreement with author Dmitry Glukhovsky to bring Metro 2033 to the silver screen.
Metro 2033 and Last Light developer 4A Games is looking to add more sandbox in their next game. Their designers want a "less linear but still hugely story-driven" title.
Chief technical officer Oles Shishkovstov from 4A Games wouldn't go into much detail but did reveal they're toying with new approaches to visuals as well, leaning more on physics.
Metro Redux, the remastered re-release of both entries in the post-apocalyptic series, is coming to PC and next-gen consoles this Summer. Developers 4A Games have released a new set of screenshots showcasing an upgraded lighting system and other visual improvements.
4A Games and Deep Silver have officially confirmed that Metro Redux is a thing, and that thing is a "fully re-mastered and improved" re-release of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
They boast 60FPS on the consoles with "new and improved content and features" for all. It's "much more" than a HD tune-up, with 2033 rebuilt in Last Light's engine.
More Metro is on the way from 4A Games as the studio announces a new office in Malta. Already they're developing Metro: Redux for Xbox One and PS4 but more is underway it would seem.
They also tease other unannounced projects not to do with the Metro IP. With E3 just around the corner hopefully the studio will be more forthcoming with new projects in the works.
