Volition's creative director Steve Jaros heads off to Valve

Steve Jaros, a ten year veteran of Saints Row developer Volition, has announced via Twitter that he's moving over to Valve Software.

"The past 10 years at Volition have been life changing. I've gotten to work with amazing people and made friends that will last a life time," the developer wrote.

Volition finally revealed that new project they've been teasing at PAX Prime, and as we expected it's a new entry in the Saints Row franchise. Not a whole new game, but a standalone expansion titled Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell.

As you might have guessed, the expansion sees series regular and general nutcase Johnny Gat make his escape from the underworld. While winding up poor Satan in the process.

A tweet from Deep Silver all but confirms that the "upcoming project" developer Volition is promising to reveal at PAX Prime this weekend will be a new Saints Row game.

An embedded image shows the familiar Saints logo on what looks very much like a Ouija board. The logo is stamped with a '666'. After Saints Row 4's sci-fi shenanigans, could we be in for a horror-themed entry?

Red Faction and Saints Row developer Volition Inc., now owned by Nordic Games, is set to reveal their latest project in the works at PAX Prime in Seattle this Friday.

A "quiz show hour" will be hosted by Natalie Lander - the voice of Kinzie. Fans will get to see "exclusive gameplay, art, and details" of the new project from the studio.

Volition increase staff size by a third, plan to refurbish Illinois offices

Saints Row developer Volition is hiring 100 new employees, which will increase its roster by a third. They aren't done there either.

The studio is also looking to remodel its Champaign, Illinois offices, with Gamesindistry.biz reporting that Volition is currently negotiating financial assistance from the city of Champaign to the tune of $200,000 to cover the work, along with $1,000 for each new employee hired.
