StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty Latest News
It was just a few years ago that StarCraft II was one of the biggest games in the world. While the esports money and attention may have moved to MOBAs, the RTS king is still a big deal, and Blizzard is planning a major update centered on big overhauls to the game’s careful multiplayer balance.
StarCraft Universe is astounding for a number of reasons. First, it’s an MMO-like multiplayer mod for StarCraft II. It raised $85,000 on Kickstarter with Blizzard’s blessing. It’s got full voice acting and CGI cinematics. Perhaps most impressive of all for a fan-made project of this scope, it’s actually reached a playable state and is in open beta right now.
Starcraft: Ghost is back! As a mission pack for StarCraft II.
When a sport gets large enough, gamblers will take notice, and eventually players will be tempted to throw games for a quick buck. Similar scandals have hit baseball, college basketball, soccer, and boxing, and now a match fixing scandal has led to the lifetime bans of eleven professional Starcraft 2 players.
Blizzard has announced that it’s making three-mission prologue campaign, a lead-in to the upcoming Legacy of the Void expansion, available for owners to play for free.
Previously it was reserved as a pre-order bonus for players taking part in the Legacy of the Void Beta. Now you can jump in by installing a starter pack on Battle.net.
