Skywind mod team talks voice acting, music and more in latest blog post

The team behind ambitious Morrowind-to- Skyrim mod Skywind has been reaching out to its fan community in order to find voice actors to read the huge amount of NPC dialogue in the game, and it's shown off some of the results in a recent blog post.

article image has teamed up with Bethesda Softworks to add a bunch of the publisher's classic titles to its retail library. In addition to three venerable Elder Scrolls RPGs, you'll also be able to pick up the original Fallout and Doom games.

Another month goes by, and another impressive slice of gameplay footage is released by the Skywind mod team, currently hard at work on their Morrowind-to-Skyrim conversion.

Videos like this are a bit of a nostalgia rush for me - look, there's the Red Mountain, there's Azura's Coast, oh god there's one of those hideous parastic worms. I'd almost forgotten just how alien and strange the world of Morrowind is. I'd almost wish we'd head back there in the next Elder Scrolls game, but on second thought it's probably time for something new. Anyway, if Bethesda did decide to revisit, that would kind of undermine the astonishing amount of work put into this mod, wouldn't it?

Skywind mod's recreation of Morrowind's starting village is pretty impressive

Anyone who's played Morrowind remembers the village of Seyda Neen, right? There's that annoying wood elf. And of of those massive crab-flea things you can ride about on. The swampy hellhole that greets you as you enter the game's distinctly unusual fantasy universe has been lovingly recreated by the team behind ambitious mod Skywind.

Skywind, you might remember, converts the entirety of Morrowind into Skyrim's much fancier engine. It's been in the works a long time, but slowly and surely the project's inching towards completion.

Here, have a new trailer for the increasingly lovely-looking Skywind, the fan-made mod that transports The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind into Skyrim.

Work on the mod continues to chug along nicely, though the mod team over at The Elder Scrolls Renewal Project are still looking for contributors to provide everything from music to voice acting, textures and quest writing.
