Hammerfall releases full version of gory chess game Warhammer 40,000: Regicide

Hammerfall Publishing has released the full version of its brutal 40K-themed chess game, Warhammer 40,000: Regicide, after several months in Steam Early Access. The full version adds Acts 2 and 3 of the Blood Angels story campaign, as well as a bunch of new features and mechanics, including three new Space Marine chapters, and two rowdy Ork clans.

Warhammer 40,000: Regicide, the galaxy's most violent game of chess, will now be released in full on September 8, developer Hammerfall Publishing has announced. The game's been on Early Access since May, and the general response has been very positive. "There's a huge amount of content, all of which is completed, that is now going through an additional polish stage. That’s a good thing not only for gamers, but for fans of the Warhammer 40,000 Universe, the developer writes.

Warhammer 40,000: Regicide, possibly the most violent game of chess you'll ever play, is about ready to leave Early Access, where it's been left to simmer for the last four months. It will officially release on August 26. Regicide will launch with a lengthy 50-mission campaign written by Warhammer 40k author Ross Watson, several new Space Marine and Ork factions, and a bunch of new skills for you to use on the battlefield.

The opening cinematic to Warhammer 40,000: Regicide has been released by independent developer Hammerfall Publishing, which teases us with the single-player campaign for this bloody twist on Chess. Regicide supports cross-platform play with a unified account to be played anywhere at any time, and Early Access is due next month and includes access to the Angels of Blood campaign.
