Capcom's Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City didn't go down to well critically but did manage to sell 2 million units at least. However that wasn't enough to keep everyone on.
"Regretfully, we can confirm that there have been some temporary layoffs at our studio. We must stress that these are temporary layoffs, which means we are working very hard on new business prospects so we can reinstate every single person affected,” said Slant Six in a statement.
“As an independent and close-knit studio, it is a very difficult but necessary business measure due to the current project cycle demands.” Currently the studio is working on a "collaborative game venture with a major publisher" and has a self-published arcade flight simulator by the name of Strata Scavenger due in 2013.
