Capcom offer fans chance to be featured in upcoming game

Want people to see your mug in a Capcom title? The studio is offering fans the chance to do just that by reciting your favourite Resident Evil moments. Capcom are accepting entries until April 14th.

They are taking nostalgia submissions through the Resident Evil Facebook page, tweets with tag #REmemory, or by linking them YouTube videos. It's unclear if it would be a Resident Evil title.

This week's deals for PlayStation Network Plus members includes discounts of up to 65% off games in the Resident Evil series. In addition, the puzzle-platformer Thomas Was Alone, which debuts this week on PSN, features a 20% off its launch price of $9.99 for subscribers.

Resident Evil dev Slant Six trims quarter of staff

Developer Slant Six Games of Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City has made redundant 26 of its 96 employees, meaning over 25 percent are let go from the Vancouver company.

The studio stress these are "temporary layoffs," as they work diligently on new business projects so they can "reinstate every single person affected." Their Resi Evil title sold 2m.

Capcom: Street Fighter x Tekken has "fallen short of our plan"

Sales for Street Fighter x Tekken have not been what Capcom thought they'd be, having sold 1.4 million units since its March launch, declaring sales "have fallen short of our plan".

They blame "cannibalism" as one of the primary causes, as other brawlers have released "within a short time" of each other. Meanwhile Slant Six was right for a Resident Evil game.

Capcom profits slip after slow fiscal

There have been some disappointing numbers from Capcom for the fiscal year ending March 31st, as revenue was down 16 percent to $1.02bn. Profits slimmed 13 percent to $84.2m.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City has moved good numbers despite critical reception. 1.7m units sold in Europe and the US, with 250k in Japan. It became Capcom's 25th best-seller.
