FIFA 14 not using EA Sports' Ignite engine on PC

The new fancy Ignite engine that EA Sports gave a glimpse to yesterday is reserved for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Fans are naturally upset especially as the consoles and PC are closer than ever.

Having very PC-like architectures count for nothing with FIFA 14 it seems, as EA Sports aren't committing the resources yet to Ignite the series beyond the next-gen machines.

“Clarification for the PC related questions earlier – EA SPORTS IGNITE will power FIFA 14 on Xbox One and PS4, not PC," tweeted Rob Hodson. For a long time PC FIFA fans had to endure falling behind the engine techs of the Xbox 360 and PS3 and only recently caught up, but now they're leaping frogging away - again.

FIFA 14 releases on Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4 and PC this September.
