Tactical Simulations Interactive, a new studio formed from ex-Strategic Simulations devs, has announced its debut RPG - Seven Dragons Saga.
Set in a new fantasy world, the game looks to avoid the traditional RPG pitfall of casting you as a boring peasant farmer who suddenly turns into a badass warrior.
”This is not a tale of farmers or aspiring novices learning how to swing a sword,” explains the press release. ”Seven Dragon Saga is a tale about the use of power. Players will need to assemble a brave troupe of adventurers “touched by the winds of the chaos”.”
You and your team’s quest involves determining ”the fate of an empire”, so no pressure. TSI promise traditional strategic RPG combat, meaty decisions and a cast of interesting NPC characters to recruit. The world of the game is based upon a new pen and paper RPG designed by former SSI figures Keith Brors and David Shelley. It’s described as ”a high-powered fantasy universe, revolving around the Empire of the Seven Dragons”.
SSI is largely known for the Gold Box range of lovely AD&D computer games they released back in the 90’s, including such classics as Curse of the Azure Bonds and Warriors of Krynn. Seven Dragons Saga aims to capture that same sense of tabletop fantasy fun.
There’s no information regarding a potential release date as yet. Find out more over on the TSI website.
