There’s a lot of stuff to see and do in Far Cry 4, so it seems like the perfect game for one of Ubisoft’s epic, extended ’101’ trailers. So of course there’s one for the open world shooter.
Witness! Elephant madness. Thrill! To inadvisable use of helicopters. Wonder! As you go shopping for new threads. Okay, I’m not sure how the last one helps either.
Couple of interesting bits and pieces here. We’re introduced to the main cast, for one, including the prominent leaders of the rebel army - Sabal and Amita lead the Golden Path, the rivals to Pagan Min’s brutal regime. I’m not entirely sure from this trailer, but it looks like we might be forced to choose which one of their philosophies to support.
Other than that, there’s apparently the option to hire mercenaries if you’ve got no-one to jump into co-op with. Help them out and they’ll join your struggle. Then there’s that familiar blend of hunting, shooting and inventive ways to murder guards. Causing a deadly avalanche is a personal favourite.
Far Cry 4’s looking like a decent follow-up to the previous game. If the main characters can manage to be slightly less hateful than they were in Far Cry 3, we might have a winner on our hands here. The game drops next week for PC and consoles.
