WildStar’s latest update, Invasion Nexus, has been released, adding a whole bunch of customisation options to the colourful sci-fi MMO. Oh, and a bunch of new missions too, if you’re into that sort of thing.
Initialization Core Y-83 is a catchily-named 20-person raid, while Star-Comm Basin is a new level-50 zone with daily event content. New Protostar Contracts give players PvE or PvP objectives to fulfil across Nexus, and offer rewards to those who manage to complete them.
But fashion is the important thing. Invasion Nexus adds the Holo-Wardrobe, a mobile changing room that lets you alter your character’s clothes and appearance in the field.
“Costume pieces are no longer items, but “looks” which can be stored in the new Holo-Wardrobe,” developer Carbine Studios explains. “Players can now store the appearance of each costume piece at the account level rather than require each character to acquire and equip specific items, and each costume piece can even be dyed a different color depending on the look for which you’re using it.”
You can find a more detailed breakdown of Invasion Nexus over on the WildStar website. The new update also adds a whole menagerie of cosmetic pets, from anthropomorphic carrots to gunslinging cats. There’s 54 of them, though thankfully you don’t have to catch them all. Invasion Nexus should be live right now.
