Update 1.2 has dropped for Stardock’s Galactic Civilizations 3, adding 3D printing support for vessels created in the game’s ship designer. Yes, that’s right, you can now own a real-life copy of the monstrous, laser-spewing abomination you’re currently obliterating galactic life with.
You can find the full details in-game, but the hist is that you can click a button to head straight over to the Sculpteo website, where your design will be evaluated. If it’s all above-board, you can pay them to print it.
Stardock’s also added the ability to share custom maps via the Steam Workshop, and improved the game’s AI – enemies will now be smarter at defending planets and building fleets. Finally, there’s a new paid Mega Events DLC that adds various galaxy-wide catastrophes to the game, just to make things more interesting for you.
“Mega Events are a special galaxy wide events that introduce new challenges or opportunities to Galactic Civilization III,” says the developer. “These events may include new enemies, planets, or resources. Example events include randomly spawning resources and anomalies, planets, and more.”
Update 1.2 should automatically download for your copy of GalCiv 3, while the Mega Events DLC will set you back £3.99.
