Confirming those rumours we heard earlier this week. EA and developers Visceral have revealed that the second Battlefield: Hardline beta will kick off next week on Tuesday, February 3.
This new chance to test the cops versus robbers shooter adds the new Hotwire mode, as well as a bunch of new weapons and gadgets. The beta will run for five days.
Hotwire sees both teams attempt to steal and hold on to marked cars dotted around the map. The longer you keep driving in one of these vehicles, the bigger the score for your team. I played it at EGX last year, and it’s a nice way to add some vehicle action into a game that focuses more on on-foot combat than most previous Battlefield titles. Downtown and Dust Bowl are your two playgrounds here.
The second playable mode, Heist, has the crminals trying to break into a bank vault while the cops try to take them down. The beta lets your try out the Bank Job map.
Finally, there’s Hacker mode. This works similarly to Commander in Battlefield 4, “as the Hackers can take control over security cameras, spot enemies and specify areas on the Battlefield for their team to attack or defend.”
The beta also contains a progression system, so you can try to unlock some higher tier weapons before the end date on Sunday, February 8. You can find out more about the beta in an FAQ here.
