Though many likely know them for the efforts in MMORPGs like Age of Conan and The Secret World, Funcom have garnered a reputation lately for scaring people silly over Halloween. And they're doing it again this year.
Unable to pass up the opportunity following the success of their freightfest 'The Park' last year, the company behind Dreamfall: The Longest Journey have whipped together a multiplayer horror title by the name of 'Hide and Shriek. Get ready for the jumpscares.
Developed by their North Carolina studio while the Oslo team work on next year's Conan title, Hide and Shriek is achieving the same results. And you'll get to experience the scares first-hand on October 25.
Only available on PC through Steam, those not quite so open to the idea of being scared half to death can simply watch other people go through the pain through the joys of YouTube.
The game itself takes the form of a multiplayer party game challenging players with the use of traps and visual effects to track and surprise their competitor. With each player being invisible to the other, the key is to keep an eye on your surroundings for those telltale signs.
Want to play? Thankfully the Steam page doesn't have a jumpscare - unless you let the video play.
