Developer Studio Wildcard have announced the game’s launch has been delayed from June to Fall 2016.
While ARK: Survival Evolved may feel like it has been out for ages now, the game has actually been released as an Early Access title this entire time. Studio Wildcard have detailed the sale numbers during ARK’s Early Release period so far, including one million sales on Xbox One and four million sales on PC.
Loot dinos and flaming swords await you in our latest collection of The Best ARK: Survival Evolved Mods.
The reason for this delay comes from the demand for more content in the game. According to a press release issued by Studio Wildfire co-founder Jesse Rapczak, ”When we first announced, we said 70 dinos, now we’ll have over 100. We never anticipated adding modding, local multiplayer, split screen, or numerous other upcoming features. The game at launch will be far more robust than originally conceived, but it takes a little extra time to wrap it all up”.
There’s also the announcement of modding support making its way to the full release of ARK, with the best mods from the community having the chance of finding their way into the game.
Players can find ARK: Survival Evolved on Xbox One’s Game Preview program and on Steam as an Early Access title.
