With the start of its big redemption changes slowing coming in, players have begun to flock back to Ubisoft's once-promising online co-op shooter. And for those who still have yet to try the title, The Division is free-to-play all weekend. They're already giving away games like crazy this year, and while they might not be taking The Division on a F2P route, a free weekend is as good a time as any to introduce some fresh meat to the game's cruel PvP modes.
Attempting to restore order to a broken world, The Division fell victim to itself. But what brought it back?
For anyone going into The Division blind right now, it's a generally simple premise. Forever causing problems, Black Friday spells the end for New York City - and the world, while it's at it. Under the residual effects of a sweeping pandemic, a lack of food and water supplies has sent the city into cause. As a member of 'The Division', you're sent out to restore order as best you can. The free weekend actually started yesterday. And with it being a fairly large download, you'll be running out of time if you don't speed along. The Division's free weekend stretches from December 15-18.
