The Batarian Will Soon Join Mass Effect: Andromeda's APEX Mode, But The Lore Remains A Secret

While further reports really do seem to suggest that the once hotly anticipated Mass Effect: Andromeda will no longer gain any single-player DLC, the same doesn't seem to be true for its multiplayer component. Not for now, at least. Popping up on the official Mass Effect Twitter account yesterday, players were told that they'd soon be able to "Take [their] skills to the next level" by introducing the 'Platinum Difficulty' to the game's APEX multiplayer mode.

Posted alongside a video, fans were given a quick-fire reveal of a member of the Batarian race - a former antagonist species of the first game that continued to make an appearance throughout the original Mass Effect Trilogy.

Of course, that raised questions. For those clued up in general Mass Effect lore, the reappearance of the Batarian's would prove a big deal. After all, Mass Effect: Andromeda takes place in a completely different galaxy to that of its predecessors; so many are already starting to ask how the Batarian managed to make a similar jump across the starts. Especially considering their less-than-favorable past. Those answers - and maybe more? - are set to be answered once the update goes live. Replying through another tweet, Fernando Melo, Producer of ME:A, said "Lore secret. (until the update). He also suggests to get "All your mission fund this week". Oh, Fernando!
