While many of us are either content with Ori & The Blind Forest being a solid and strikingly beautiful platformer, Creative Bytes seemingly want to expand upon those ideas with something of their own. In comes Embers of Mirrim, a title that while sounds like a location, simply refers to the main features of the game's protagonist - Mirrim.

Once split at whatever convenience to the player, Mirrim's separated embers are controlled independently like a twin-stick shooter. Evident through the trailer, the two different coloured embers react differently to the objects presented on-screen. Meaning that while Mirrim as a whole can't traverse through the glowing slingshots, its Ember forms should have no trouble finding a way through the obstacles. The game promises "epic boss battles" and likely a lot of trial and error twitch-based platforming that might get a little fast-paced and confusing for those not typically used to multitasking separated controls. Playable at this year's GDC, we should expect this one to release a little closer to the year's end.
