Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Coming To PC on February 1 [UPDATE: Will have Denuvo Anti-Tamper DRM]

According to the Steam page for Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, it seems the game will have Denuvo Anti-Tamper DRM attached to it. While it seems like Final Fantasy 12 will be the first Final Fantasy game to have Denuvo attached - World of Final Fantasy did not get this DRM - the recent Remaster of Star Ocean: The Last Hope did have Denuvo attached. While we have not encountered problems with Denuvo there is a section of gamers who really dislike it and refuse to touch games with it, and there are certainly rumours that it causes performance problems in games such as Assassin's Creed Origins, so we would be remiss if we did not point it out that it will be attached to Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, the remastered version of the game, will be coming to PC on February 1. This will be the first time Final Fantasy 12 appears on PC, and Square Enix are adding a host of PC-specific improvements. We've got all the details below.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will be available on Steam February 1 and will cost $49.99/£39.99. Anyone who buys that game within the first week of launch will also receive a 20% discount, a three-track digital music compilation and a new Steam Skin illustrated by famed FINAL FANTASY artist Isamu Kamikokuryo.

The Zodiac Age is the remastered version of Final Fantasy 12 which appeared on PS4 last year, boasting improved visuals, a remastered soundtrack, new Speed and Trial modes, fast forward function and more. You can check out the PC announcement trailer here. The PC version will come with these new PC-specific features:

• 60FPS - Ivalice will look better than ever with the game running at 60FPS.
• Compatible with 21:9 ultra-wide monitors - Up to three HD monitors can be used for a potential 48(16x3):9 experience.
• New Game Plus and New Game Minus - Post-game content modes are now accessible from the beginning of the game.
• Three background music options – The original, re-orchestrated and soundtrack versions are now available from the beginning of the game (why wasn't this in the PS4 version?).
• Maximized License Points and Gil - New functionality added to grant players max License Points and Gil from the configuration screen.
• Full controller support, Steam Trading Cards and more to optimize the PC player experience.

There will also be a full Collector’s Edition for the PC version exclusively on the Square Enix Online Store for $149.99. The Collector’s Edition features an official Collector’s Edition Steelbook with the original soundtrack, a five-piece Judge Masters Bust Set, six-card art set and a digital download code for the game. It's a little annoying that there's a steelbook but not a physical version for that price, but the price is mostly for the five-piece bust set. The day after release, Thursday February 2 at 12:00 PST/15:00 EST/20:00 GMT, Producer Hiroaki Kato and Director Takashi Katano will answer questions, presented by fans on Twitter, on the Final Fantasy YouTube channel - with English subtitles. All we need now is Final Fantasy XV, which will be available sometime later this year, and the PC will have the entire collection of numbered Final Fantasy games at last.
