Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 lets players choose from six different classes, with fully reworked ones from the original making a return and joining the all-new custom Specialist role.
Classes in Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 are defined by a heavier emphasis on team synergies, weapon customisation (sidearms included), and carefully selected kits for each mission. While the missions against the Xenomorph hordes are hectic, developer Cold Iron Studios is attempting to reinforce tactical play, especially now that four-player teams are possible.
Below is the full list of Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 classes you can master as a Colonial Marine.
| Duelist | The reworked Gunner, and the only class with two primary weapon slots instead of a fixed primary/secondary pair — bring two rifles and swap mid-fight as enemy packs change. |
| Hunter | The Lancer's successor, built to slow prey with Particle Pulse and Stasis Bolt abilities, plus Cryo Pulse to freeze Xenos outright. |
| Machinist | The old Technician, rebuilt around energy weaponry and battlefield control. |
| Marauder | The heavy force-multiplier evolved from the Demolisher, pairing a rifle with a heavy weapon and two shoulder-mounted kits. |
| Medic | The updated Doc and still the squad's insurance policy. Runs Combat Stims and a returning Advanced Trauma Station that upgrades into a Buffing or Poison Station. |
| Specialist | The all-new custom class. It unlocks only after levelling the other five, at which point you can build almost any Specialist you want from the abilities you've unlocked. |
