After a long delay, Elden Ring Tarnished Edition is launching on Nintendo Switch 2 in summer 2026. Here you’ll find all the details on the new content and features it packs as well as its definitive release date.
Elden Ring Tarnished Edition Switch 2 release date
After some radio silence and a delay following disappointing reports about the port’s performance, publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment has set a late summer release for Elden Ring Tarnished Edition.
- Elden Ring Tarnished Edition release date: August 28, 2026
Elden Ring Tarnished Edition Switch 2 content and features
Elden Ring Tarnished Edition includes the base game and the massive Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. Moreover, it adds previously unreleased content in the form of two new starter classes, all-new character armour sets, and also the ability to customise Torrent, the spectral steed.
At the time of writing, it’s unclear if the final release build of Elden Ring Tarnished Edition on Switch 2 will include two (or more) different performance/quality profiles. Reports on last year’s highly criticised demo said the port favoured quality over performance at 30 FPS. However, we wouldn’t be surprised if a proper Performance mode of sorts targeting 40 FPS (or an uncapped framerate) thanks to DLSS has been added following the extra tinkering.
Is Elden Ring Tarnished Edition’s new content coming to other platforms?
Yes, Elden Ring Tarnished Edition’s new content will launch on the same day on all previous platforms: PC (Steam), PS4/5, and Xbox Series X/S.
The price tag hasn’t been confirmed yet, but according to Japanese sources, it might be around the $3-5 range given its very limited size.
