Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear Latest Updates
The lead writer on Bioware's Dragon Age series joined Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition developer Beamdog in 2016 as creative director, but today has announced he has left the company.
It's been a very long time in coming, but the first original expansion for 1998's seminal roleplaying game Baldur's Gate, Siege of Dragonspear, is now available for purchase from Beamdog, Steam and Good Old Games. Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast was released back in 1999.
The expansion includes new items, quests, and a new class, the shaman. Players can import characters from Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition into the expansion and export them to Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition as well.
It's been awhile since Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition and the enhanced version of its sequel sought to bring us back to the Forgotten Realms and introduced a whole new generation of players to one of the greatest RPG series of all time. Now, a new expansion for the classic RPG is just around the corner with Siege of Dragonspear and Beamdog has announced the expansion is content complete.
Baldur's Gate fans are in for a treat as Overhaul Games is ploughing ahead with their own adventure in the iconic series, and it will be bridging between the original two games. It's an expansion to Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition.
This is the first timeand their studio Overhaul will be creating something new. Game designer and writer Chris Avellone admits he's "actually pretty jealous" about parts of it.
