I reviewed Bombshell earlier this year. The bugs were insufferable. There was a major glitch that kept me from even finishing the game. It was a hot mess.
3D Realms issues statement on poor review scores, Bombshell isn't “Diablo in space”
Bombshell launched late last week for the PC, with various publications proclaiming it a major dud, including our very own Dustin Bailey, who gave it a 4.5/10 saying “Bombshell isn’t the worst game I’ve ever played, but it’s among the most dull and uninteresting.” It didn't fare much better with Steam's user reviews, but at least it's a little bit more mixed than the average score of 41 on Metacritic. 3D Realms are working hard to resolve some of the complaints that have been thrown against Bombshell, and are looking through comments and reviews to gather information to hopefully improve the game before it's too late. A statement from 3D Realms CEO, Frederik Schreiber, goes over some of the expectations from the early preview builds, with many comparing it to “Diablo” and other great ARPG's.
Sci-fi action-RPG Bombshell goes gold, on track for January 29th launch
3D Realms has announced that their Diablo-like sci-fi action-RPG Bombshell has achieved gold master status, putting it on track for its January 29th release date.
Bombshell gets a release date on PC
It's been quite a bit since anyone heard much about Bombshell. It was back in August that the game first surfaced out of the rubble of a lawsuit Gearbox Studios filed against 3D Realms over the creation of a new Duke Nukem project. Despite setbacks, Bombshell was given a release date today.
