Koei Tecmo reveals Dead or Alive 5: Last Round DLC schedule

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round will get a batch of new content over the next few months, according to Gematsu, kicking off in August with the game's 1.04 update, which will add a new stage, the Lovely Summer Costume 2015 costume pack (which will be very tasteful, I'm sure), and several balance adjustments. September will bring another costume pack based on Falcom games such as The Legend of Heroes: Sen no Kiseki and Trails in the Sky, and in October Everyone’s Halloween Costume DLC will land. In November there will be yet another costume DLC based on Square Enix’s Schoolgirl Strikers smartphone game.

Those of you with a PC copy of Dead or Alive 5: Last Round who were hoping to be able to actually play the game online at some point are going to be stuck waiting a little longer. Developer Team Ninja has apparently found some “major issues” during its Beta testing phase, and as a result the full release of the game's online modes has been pushed back indefinitely.

A little texture re-tinkering has brought Shenmue to the PC version of Dead or Alive 5 Last Round. Since the world is deprived of new Shenmue prospects, one modder decided to take matters into their own hands. While not a full conversion, you do get to enjoy a texture reskin for Ryo Hazuki, Lan Di and the Dojo. The mod is entitled 'Dead or Alive 5 Shenmue Edition', and will be the closest fans can get to a new game.

*UPDATED* Dead or Alive 5: Last Round drops on PC, short an online multiplayer mode

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is available now on PC, which is good. If you want to play online multiplayer though, you'll have to wait up to three months for a patch. Which is bad. Yes, while the Steam PC version of Team Ninja's brawler features 4K support and even (my god) anti-aliasing, it doesn't yet allow you to beat up your friends online.

Team Ninja won't return to the PC if Dead or Alive 5 modders don't behave in a "good moral and manner"

Team Ninja won't return to the PC if Dead or Alive 5 modders don't behave in a "good moral and manner"

Dead or Alive 5 creator Team Ninja says it won't make another PC game if the modding community can't behave itself when customising the upcoming brawler. An upgraded version of the 2012 original, Dead or Alive 5: Last Round marks the first appearance of the popular franchise on the platform. Speaking to MCV, director Yohei Shimbori said that unless players behave in a "good moral and manner", they won't develop for the PC again.
